Perfect Bra Fit Tips
Perfect Bra Fit Tips
Finding the right bra fit can make a world of difference in comfort and confidence. Even a well-chosen bra can fit poorly if it's the wrong size or style for your body. Below, we walk you through the four most common fit issues and exactly how to fix them.

Band Rides Up at the Back
The problem: Your bra band creeps up your back throughout the day, sitting higher at the back than the front.
The cause: This is almost always a sign that your band size is too large. The band should sit horizontally and firmly around your torso — if it rides up, it's not providing the support it should.
The solution: Try going down a band size. If you're currently wearing a 36, try a 34. Remember to also go up a cup size to maintain the same cup volume (e.g., 36C → 34D). Look for bras with a firm, wide band for extra support. Browse our full bra collection to find your perfect fit.
Cups Overflow at the Top
The problem: Your breast tissue spills over the top or sides of the cup, creating a "double bust" effect.
The cause: Your cup size is too small. This is one of the most common fit mistakes — many people underestimate their cup size.
The solution: Go up one or more cup sizes until your breast tissue sits fully inside the cup with no spillage. A well-fitted cup should encase the breast completely and smoothly. Use our size guide to find your correct cup size, or explore our full cup bras designed for fuller busts.
Straps Dig into Shoulders
The problem: Your bra straps leave red marks or dig painfully into your shoulders by the end of the day.
The cause: Either the straps are too tight, or your band is too loose — causing the straps to carry most of the weight instead of the band. Ideally, the band should provide 80% of the support.
The solution: First, loosen the straps slightly — you should be able to fit two fingers underneath. If the problem persists, try a smaller band size so the band takes on more of the support role. Wide-strap or cushioned-strap styles can also help. Explore our minimizer bras for superior shoulder comfort.
Gap Between Cup and Breast
The problem: There is empty space between the cup and your breast, causing the cup to gape or wrinkle.
The cause: Your cup size is too large, or the cup shape doesn't match your breast shape. This is common with plunge or balconette styles on certain breast shapes.
The solution: Try going down a cup size, or experiment with a different cup style that better matches your breast shape. T-shirt bras and molded cups tend to work well for a smooth, close fit.
